Chef Kirsten Atyeo has been cooking her way around the world by land and by sea for the past 20 years…Born in New Zealand, she moved to Australia when she was 14 and by the age of 16 realised that she had a natural talent, and a huge passion for cooking.
Kirsten completed a four year apprenticeship under some very talented chefs and has continued gaining knowledge by working with great chefs around the world, from Australia to Canada, New York, Spain and Thailand.
She believes that some of the greatest teachings have come from spending time in a local’s house, sharing traditional recipes. The later part of Kirsten’s culinary career has been a floating experience as head chef on some of the most prestigious “Super Yachts” of the world.
Kirsten has cooked for some of the world’s most internationally acclaimed successful women, including Barbara Streisand and Nicole Kidman.
One of her biggest fans is fashion designer and icon, Dianne Von Furstenburg (DVF) who has recently released her fragrance with the message “Be the woman you want to be” Kirsten was DVF’S personal Chef onboard her and husband Barry Diller’s 93m sailing yacht EOS for four years.
Some of the other guests that she has catered for on various yachts include, Mick Jagger, Jack Nicholson, Francois Mitterand to name a few. |
